Today there are estimated over 143 million orphans in the world. Many of these children, particularly those in the third world nations, are special needs children. They are HIV positive or have Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or were born into extreme poverty that has taken its physical and emotional toll. For many of these children, adoption is literally the difference between life and death.
The sad fact is that prospective parents with the means to adopt, usually don’t want a special needs child. Prospective parents who are willing to accept a special needs child, often don’t have the means. The Rollstone Foundation seeks to bridge this gap by helping to supply the means by awarding grants to adopting parents. These modern day saints, who willingly take special needs children into their homes, need all the help that we can give them.
