There are an estimated 143 million orphans in the world.
Many of these children, particularly in third-world nations, are children with special needs. They may be HIV Positive, suffer from diseases such as Down Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy, are blind, or were born into extreme poverty that has taken its toll on their small bodies. These are conditions that are treatable in the United States, but they are death sentences for their home countries. For many, adoption is literally the difference between life and death.
The sad fact is that prospective parents with the means to adopt usually do not desire Special Needs children, whereas prospective parents who are willing to open their hearts and homes to a Special Needs child often do not have the financial means. The cost of such an international adoption is often $25,000 or more.
The Rollstone Foundation is committed to finding them homes.
The Rollstone Foundation assists such prospective parents by awarding monetary grants—allowing the new parents to rescue the child from almost certain death, and move them into a loving adoptive home. Every dollar taken in by Rollstone is almost immediately turned around and dispersed in the form of grants to qualified prospective parents, so that the rescue of a child can be accomplished as soon as possible.
